Unknown

"Unknown" is believed to be a male Rottweiler weighing approximately 90 pounds.  He is black in color and he has brown markings above his eyes, on his muzzle and on his paws.  We were also informed that his tail has been clipped and that he was wearing an unusual collar with no tags.

This dog was found on Friday, January 07, 2005 in the area of Irving Park and Schaumburg Roads.

UPDATE!

Thanks to the kindness, consideration and out-of-pocket expenses offered by the finder of this poor dog, it has been adopted into a new and loving home.  Below is a copy of the letter sent to us informing MPC of his progress.  We have removed the author's name and e-mail address to preserve his privacy:

Firstly, I want to thank you once again for the wonderful web site you operate.

I am the poster of the found male Rottweiler.

In addition to posting at your site, I made numerous calls to police departments, three counties of animal control, and several vets with no luck. Circumstances did not permit me to keep the dog, so I have been actively searching for an option to taking him to a shelter or pound.

Today, a wonderful couple has adopted the dog. Under the circumstances, it would be appropriate to ask that the notice on your site be removed.

The vet who examined the dog today said that, from his condition, she doubted he had been well cared for, and that he had been on his own for a bit. She said his current adoptive situation will be a great improvement on wherever it was he came from.

Again, thank you so much for what you do. I felt better knowing that the ad was up, and that it was one of the many efforts we made to find out if anyone was searching for him.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX

MPC comment:

If you are the owner of this dog and your search to find him was unsuccessful, we regret your loss.  However, if you simply abandoned him for reasons of your own . . . SHAME ON YOU!!
